Summary:
A French company provides customized and high-performance nanosatellites for partners whose projects refer to various fields of application. To address in particular the field of Earth observation, the SME is looking for small opticals payload providers. A manufacturing agreement is proposed.
Description:
The French company designs and manufactures nanosatellites. Within more than 3 years and thanks to reference partnerships with the main actors from the aerospace sector, it has developed a solid expertise. It addresses various markets such as Defense, Science, Earth observation and Telecommunications. For the purpose of Earth observation, the company must take into account certain specificities such as more repetitivity in the data even though the resolution is less good than the one provided by the current high-resolution satellites. It would be achieved by deploying a constellation of dozens or hundreds of satellites that have to be as small as possible in order to limit their cost of deployement in orbit. In order to meet this requirement, the company is looking for a payload manufacturer, able to provide small optical payloads.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The partner(s) sought will have the ability to design, manufacture and test the ITAR-free instrument(s) with suitable equipment to ensure its operation and reliability. The ideal partner will be a single manufacturer/provider for both instruments but however the possibility of dealing with two different manufacturers is open.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The partner(s) sought must imperatively provide ITAR-free instruments/technologies to the French company that is looking for two main kinds of instruments : - a first instrument able to take panchromatic and multispectral pictures with a resolution of 1m and a swath of at least 10 km (30km desired) at 500 km of altitude. - a second one, a thermal infrared instrument, which shall fit into a nanosatellite form factor, typically a few liters and shall also have a low power consumption, typically a few watts. A single manufacturer able to supply both ITAR-free instruments will be an ideal partner but the French company might be also open to the possibility of dealing with two different manufacturers if necessary.
