Summary:
A Polish company specializing in tyre and rubber recycling has developed an asphalt modifier based on enriched rubber powder which is used to improve the parameters of bituminous mixtures. After launching the product on the Polish market, the company is looking for distributors abroad.
Description:
A Polish company specializing in tyre recycling and production of high quality rubber granulates and rubber powders from end-of-life tyres, with a total production capacity of 20 000 tonnes per year. Currently, the company distributes its products mainly in the Central and Eastern Europe. In recent years, the company has undertaken research and development activities to develop additional applications for recycled tyre materials. This led to the development of an asphalt modifier based on enriched rubber powder used to improve the parameters of bituminous mixtures. This includes high quality rubber powder obtained from recycled tyres with the addition of an improver and a cross-linking agent. It can be added to all kinds of Hot Mixed Asphalt mixtures/blends (HMA). This solution has been supported and improved by numerous laboratory and industrial tests. The tests proved that a mix of asphalt with standard binder with additives (50/70, 70/100 or 35/50) has much better performance than the same mix modified only with polymers. The main advantages of adding a product to an asphalt mix include: • Improved resistance to permanent deformation, • Improved resistance to low temperatures, • Noise reduction, • Reduction of production costs of SMA, AC WMS, and other mm-a made of modified bitumen, • Significant extention of the service life of asphalt surfaces, • Production of SMA without expensive stabilizers, • Elimination of hydrogen sulfide emissions. After launching the product on the Polish market, the company is looking for opportunities to expand into various markets, preferably through cooperation with a partner experienced in distribution of bitumen products under a distribution agreement.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The Polish company is looking for cooperation with a partner experienced in the distribution of asphalt products or otherwise involved in the road construction sector. The partner should be responsible for the distribution of the product, as well as for providing information on any additional requirements for the product on the local market. The preferred form of cooperation is a distribution services agreement.
