Summary:
A young Russian company, engaged in the production of field emission cathodes made of refractory metals based on microchannel plates, is looking for partners to sign a distribution services agreement.
Description:
The Russian company from Kabardino-Balkaria was established in 2015. Today, it is engaged in the production of high-quality field emission cathodes based on microchannel plates. The initial materials for the creation of field emission cathodes are primarily refractory metals (tungsten, molybdenum, rhenium, platinum), as well as metals of transition groups (chromium, niobium, hafnium).
Semiconductor materials give countless options for creating field emission cathodes. There are several prospects of the use of field emission cathodes in various electronic devices, such as electron beam devices, flat panel displays, cathodoluminescent light sources and others.
Auto-emission cathodes based on microchannel plates
The principle of operation of the electron source consists in the use of a microchannel plate (MCP) with channels inside which auto-emission emitters based on graphite-like nanostructures are formed. When a voltage is applied to the cathode, electrons fly out into the channels and, colliding with the surface of the channels, knock out secondary electrons. This process is repeated many times and an electronic stream is moving along the channel, amplifying. This makes it possible to significantly reduce the operating voltage of the cathode and obtain a high uniformity of electron emission.
The composition of the auto-emission cathode: MCP and housing.
Main technical characteristics of auto-emission cathodes:
Diameter of the electron emission region, mm 10
Operating voltage range, V 350-1100
Maximum emission current, mkA 100
Stability of the emission current, % < 1
