SME is specialised in surface treatment and related R&D know how to the Materials' Industry. Through their consistent development of technology, they are always up-to-date and are thus able to develop complex solutions. The company is specialised in the deposit of tailor-made coatings at low pressure and low temperature (< 150°C) on materials to enhance its surface properties. It coats complex 3D parts with a wide range of sizes. This company also can improve nano- to micro-scale powders to modify their compatibility with a target matrix of solvents without modifying their intrinsic properties. The SME licenses soft, flexible or hard customized plasma deposition coating processes that can be retrofitted in existing plasma coating machines, allowing treatment of complex 3D build parts or powders. Their current customers and markets are jewelry, luxurious hardware, technical ceramics, house appliances, automotive suppliers. For example: a) Vacuum plasma treatment machine manufacturer interested to propose to their customer a new machine and process for specific applications but not having the time nor internal resources for process-product developments. Then asking the SME to develop a custom process to be installed on their machine as to serve end customers. b) End customer wanting to add values to their products by tailoring and enhancing their materials' characteristics such as increase hardness, add wear and corrosion resistance, achieve a lower friction, or add specific optical or electrical properties as well as decorative colors.
