A biotech SME from northwestern Poland was founded in 2018 by two bioengineers with an academic background. So far they've been working with bacteriophages, providing domestic and foreign partners (i.a. Germany, France, UK) with custom-made solutions for dealing with bacterial pathogens. Against the backdrop of COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-Cov-2 virus, the company has found a new application for its technology. With their unique collection of over 900 phages, they can and are offering to test the antiviral properties of materials such as fabrics, polymers, biomaterials.
The company has been successfully providing this innovative service to a foreign partner, and now would like to enable other companies to test materials they are using and make their products safer for their employees and customers. Therefore it is offering cooperation within the framework of the outsourcing agreement to the companies working with textiles, paper, glass, wood, metal, and other such materials, universities and R&D institutions. Partners will be expected to provide samples of the materials. The company will, in turn, conduct their quantitative and qualitative evaluation, prepare the report and explain results. If requested, they can also advise on how to improve the antiviral and antibacterial properties of materials and final products.
