Companies, academics or inventors are sought to provide their own solutions or enhance existing technology via technical cooperation agreement.
Description:
A Dutch healthcare company provides rehabilitation consultation and intervention to children with severe physical disabilities.
Within the organisation a tech advice team (TAT) is active. This team helps children with disabilities, professionals and caregivers to implement technical possibilities in the field of communication, independent travel, leisure activities, at home and at school. Due to the introduction of the TAT, both extensive knowledge of the latest technologies and various resources and materials are available within the company. For example, there is a therapy computer where various control options can be applied, such as eye control, switch control and touch control.
Currently, cognitive functioning in these children cannot be measured because the available methods of operation are not adjusted for children with physical disabilities. As a consequence, the intelligence level of children with physical disabilities is frequently under- or overestimated.
By making use of alternative methods of operation (e.g. eye or touch control) , the intelligence level of the child with severe physical disabilities can be determined. As a consequence, the rehabilitation intervention can be better adjusted to the possibilities of the child, thereby increasing the level of participation.
The main question is: “How can the company adjust and improve the method of operation of intelligence testing for children with severe physical disabilities?”
The company is looking for parties who want to help them further adjusting the current methods and application to test the intelligence of children with severe physical disabilities, using innovative technology and solutions. The company aims for a technical cooperation agreement.
The company is also interested for parties who want to think along about the possible expansion of these methods to other healthcare providers. So also other agreements can be foreseen when fits the purpose.
This project is an initiative of the company’s tech advice team (TAT) as described above.
