Description:
The Dutch manufacturer was founded in the mid-1900 and is now a major player for paints in the Fine Art market. At this moment the company depends for packaging innovations mainly on innovations of the packaging suppliers. As the company has the strategic intention to contribute to environmental and social responsibility the SME wants to find reliable, efficient and effective ways to minimize packaging waste and increase recycled content. For this they are looking for partners that can help or supply them with innovative solutions to make their tubes recyclable. An important challenge / precondition is that also the problem of paint residue that is left behind in the packaging (tube) should be included the possible solution. The main volumes are in plastic tubes with wide range of volumes from 20ml to 250ml. It should be taken into account that the market of fine Art is a traditional market with a slow consumer acceptance.
An additional challenge is to increase the efficiency of the packaging logistics.To achieve this goal the SME also wants create an optimal shape/design of the tubes, so the filling level of the outer boxes can optimized. For the solution of this issue, the company has the intention to conclude a technical cooperation agreement, but there is scope for discussing other forms of cooperation and agreements.
IMPORTANT: This technical cooperation request refers to an innovation challenge published on the internet platform. If an organization expresses interest before closing date, it will be guided towards this open innovation platform. After registration participants can browse free through other submissions and engage in discussions. All submissions will get feedback by the company on this open platform. The challenge opens on December 13th and closes on January 15th 2021. Mind that posts on this platform are not confidential. Beside open discussions on the platform, sharing of confidential information will be made possible on demand. After that, the firm will select the SMEs with whom they would like to cooperate in the development of a solution. Once the challenge is closed, Expressions of Interest for this technology request will be treated in the traditional way.
