Summary:
In order to determine the efficiency on cutaneous infected wounds of a new treatment, a middle-size French company is looking for an in vivo model of cutaneous infected wounds in mammals. Technical cooperation is sought with healthcare companies or laboratories to test the product in certain conditions on an in vivo model of infected cutaneous wounds, ideally surgical infected wounds.
Description:
Willing to determine the efficiency on cutaneous infected wounds of a new biomedical device, the French company is looking for an in vivo model of cutaneous infected wounds in mammals. They therefore need a robust, reproductible model of acute infected wounds (ideally surgical wounds) on which they could test a variety of infections so to better assess the efficiency of this new product. A model on any common laboratory animal such as guinea pigs, mice, rats or pig would be acceptable. In terms of pathogenic agents, they do target the most commonly found bacterial strains present in infected cutaneous wounds such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. Other common strains would also be of interest, in particular : Escherichia coli, Enterobacter sp. and Klebsiella sp. Their intention is therefore to work with a partner either public or private which would enable them to test their product in various conditions on their animal model. Technical cooperation is sought with healthcare companies or laboratories. Such partnership would likely take the form of a provision of services from the interested partner who would be in charge of carrying out the experiments, according to a defined protocol and various specifications designed and provided by the company.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
Type of partner : Universities, public or private laboratories, start-ups, companies, Hospitals. Sector : Healthcare Role : To test the product in certain conditions on an in vivo model of infected cutaneous wounds, ideally surgical infected wounds.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
More specifically, they are looking for a model of infected surgical wounds of the skin on living animals, i.e.: wounds that have been colonized or infected by non-commensal bacteria after the wound was sutured. A partner is sought to carry out the experiments on laboratory animal, according to a defined protocol and specifications.
