Summary:
This German Start-up specialising in modern room air conditioning is seeking partners in Europe under a distribution service agreement. The air-conditioning elements are designed to generally reduce energy requirements through high efficiency and to enable completely CO2-neutral heating and cooling using renewable energies - a product that allows cooling and heating in one system. Potential partners should be able to take over sales and installation of climate elements developed by the company.
Description:
This German Start-up, founded in 2017, has developed an innovative element for energy-saving surface air conditioning. The innovative climate element is used for room air conditioning. It is installed on the ceiling and heats/cools with thermal radiation. Water circulating through capillary tube mats acts as the energy carrier. The heating/cooling effect is based on the excellent heat storage and conductivity of water (in comparison with air as a heating/cooling medium in fan-assisted air conditioning or convection heating) and on the large radiating surface (up to 85% of the room ceiling is covered with elements). To achieve a heating/cooling effect, the temperature of the water must not differ so much from the desired room temperature, for example it must be raised (heating) or lowered (cooling) less than air. The water is thus operated in the low temperature range (approximately 17-40 degrees Celsius) during both heating and cooling. This leads to significant energy savings for the heat/cooling generator used (e.g. heat pump), which can now be operated largely (ideally completely) with renewable energy sources and is low in CO2 (ideally CO2-neutral). The innovative feature of the product compared to other surface air-conditioning systems is that cooling can also take place below the dew point, as the air-conditioning element absorbs condensation. This means that structural damage caused by free condensation, such as mould, moist walls, etc., does not occur. This is made possible by a highly hygroscopic carrier plate made of calcium silicate, which absorbs large amounts of moisture. The moisture bound in the carrier plate evaporates back into the room when the air-conditioning element is switched off. The resulting evaporative cooling leads to an additional cooling effect that consumes no electricity. The company also uses clay plaster, a building material that keeps the humidity in the room constantly at a physiologically comfortable level. Bacteria and pollutants in the air pass through the clay plaster into the calcium silicate board and die off in its alkaline environment, which also removes the breeding ground for mould. In combination with the principle of 'thermal radiation' instead of convection, this ensures a healthy, low-allergen indoor climate, which also reduces the risk of colds. The air-conditioning element is characterized by durability and low maintenance costs. The water circulation through the capillary tube mats runs evenly, without violent load changes, and is managed by circulating pumps with comparatively low power. Since the air-conditioning elements are virtually maintenance-free, maintenance is limited almost exclusively to the heating/cooling generator circuit. In addition to the air-conditioning element, the company offers the associated plant technology for its manufacture. This is a semi-automatic production plant with a modular design. The modules can be assembled and disassembled at short notice and flexibly arranged. The plant is easy to operate and enables a partner based locally in the target market to manufacture and distribute the air-conditioning elements locally in line with demand. Market potential exists where there is a strong demand for cooling and high humidity (e.g. Mediterranean region). Target objects are large rooms with a high number of visitors and anthropogenic air humidity fluctuations. Expected partner will be offered a distribution service agreement and will be expected to either distribute and install the product or have access to appropriate partners such as architects and planners.
