Summary:
A German SME developed a breathing CO2 monitoring system that works like a traffic light and indicates when the CO2 concentration in a closed room has reached a certain limit and ventilation action has to be taken. The higher the CO2 concentration is, the higher is the number of aerosols and thus the risk of infection from these aerosols (e.g. SARS-CoV-2). The CO2 monitoring device is suitable for office buildings, hospitals, gastronomy etc. The company is looking for distribution partners.
Description:
When breathing, talking and sneezing people also emit aerosols. These aerosols can cause infections, e.g. with SARS-CoV-2. Taking into a account that a high CO2 concentration is linked to a high aerosol concentration, a German SME developed a CO2 measuring and warning device in cooperation with scientists and experts from ventilation and air conditioning as well as medical technology. The SME is a development companiy, founded in 1999 with experience in the development of IOT solutions. Extensive investigations and developments resulted in a device that measures the current CO2 content of the room air quickly and precisely. These measurement results are interpreted using WHO (World Health Organisation) -compliant guidelines and displayed as in the manner of a traffic light. "Good" air (<800 ppm CO2 ) is displayed in green. A higher level of CO2 that requires attention is shown in yellow and a red display warns when the room needs to be ventilated or left. The CO2 monitoring device ensures reliable information that makes it possible to create healthier conditions for people in closed rooms and thus it contributes to reducing the risk of infection. Measurements can be documented and traced online. In addition, push notifications can be sent if the critical value is exceeded. The handling and reading of the device is easy. The device can communicate with a smartphone and can be integrated into a room air monitoring system through an online interface. The system measures the quality of the room air and sends a message to the CO2 “traffic light” unit when ventilation is needed. Messages are also sent to smartphones. The device can therefore be installed in office buildings, hospitals and clinics, public buildings, hospitality and gastronomy establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafes as well as schools. In future the product is to be adapted for application development in aircrafts, ships, cars etc.. The German company is looking for distribution partners with good contacts in facility management, management of public or open spaces, hotels, schools, hospitals, offices etc. In addition, there is interest in finding partners for further development, for example for use in airplanes, ships and vehicles, are also welcome.
