Summary:
The Dutch SME has developed a rainwater purification system where rainwater can be purified into drinking water. The system has been developed and demonstrated and is now ready for the market. The system can be applied in household or industrial settings. The Dutch company is looking for partners in Europe with experience in rainwater harvesting, water filters, pumps and other technical related areas. To potential partners a commercial agreement with technical assistance is offered.
Description:
The Dutch SME offering the innovative technology, has over 25 years experience in water management. The company develops, produces and supplies smart purification systems for water for usage in households or other buildings. The rainwater system purifies the rainwater. The intelligent treatment system ensures 100% microbiologically safe water. The rainwater is purified with a microfilter, active carbon filter, membrane filter (Ultrafiltration (UF)) and UV (ultraviolet) unit. The rainwater system is equipped with a double microbiologic barrier. Furthermore the system is tested fully automatic every day, which guarantees the quality of the water. The system is suitable for: - Homes and apartments (off-grid) - Hotels and holiday homes - Cattle breeding - Food producing industry Working principle (shown also in the image): The rainwater is collected in a tank with a pre-filter. In the tank you attach a powerful pump that ensures sufficient water pressure. The rainwater system does the rest: when the rainwater enters, it is immediately purified, so that the water can be safely distributed to all taps throughout the building. The company is looking for European partners preferably active in rainwater harvesting systems and with experience in water filter- and pump techniques. The partner will be responsible for sales, installation of the system and additional technical services on-site, such as the provision of a water storage tank with a pre-filter and pump system. The Dutch SME will be the technology supplier, and can provide also key equipment. The partner can sell the solution as a turn key project to his customers. A commercial agreement with technical assistance is offered to potential partners.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The Dutch company is looking for distributors, preferably active in rainwater harvesting systems, with knowledge of the (local) market, and have sufficient know-how of pump-, and filter techniques. The partner will be responsible for sales, installation of the system and additional technical services on-site, such as the provision of a water storage tank with a pre-filter and pump system. Cooperation is offered in the framework of a commercial agreement with technical assistence.
Stage of Development:
Field tested/evaluated
Comments Regarding Stage of Development:
The system has been extensively tested for the removal of micro-organisms and does this very reliably. 1. Field tests on rainwater The removal of microorganisms from rainwater has been tested by the SME in practice for 5 years at several homes and companies. The water quality has been tested by accredited laboratories. Field tests on rainwater. 2. WHO The system was tested by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the KWR Watercycle Research Institute, a WHO collaborating centre and one of the most qualified water research centres in the world. The test results were excellent. Microorganism / Log₁₀ - reduction / Proc. removal Bacteria/ 8,2 / >99,999999% Bacteriophage type 1/ 5,7 / >99,999% Bacteriophage type 2/ 3,7 / >99,9% Protozoa/ 8,2 / >99,999999% “This investigation was carried out as part of the WHO International Scheme to Evaluate Household Water Treatment Technologies”. 3. VIDA (Value-added Innovation in food chains) For the European subsidized VIDA project, the system was tested at two companies in the food sector in 2020 to demonstrate that purified rainwater can fully meet the requirements for drinking water in accordance with the Dutch Drinking Water Act. That has been carried out successfully.
IPR Status:
Secret Know-how,Other
Comments Regarding IPR Status:
The system is protected by 1. A smart combination of purification techniques and control device 2. Extensive know how or rainwater and purification of rainwater 3. Approval by the WHO
