Summary:
Italian wine cellar located in Piedmont region, with a longstanding tradition in producing typical local red, white and sparkling white wines protected under the relevant EU quality schemes, is looking for commercial agency agreements.
Selected agents should be located in target EU and extra-EU countries and possibly have ties with large-scale retail traders, including supermarkets and hypermarkets, to meet the company's high production capacity.
Description:
The Italian company was founded in 1848 in a small town in Langhe and Roero area (southern Piedmont region), and since then has been specializing in the production of local red wines, white wines and sparkling white wines. It farms about 60 hectares of family owned vineyards, for a production of over 750 tons of grapes per year, which, added to that of other farmers' provisions, gives a total of more than 2,000 tons of grapes a year, enabling the offer of a wider range of products, sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Thanks to this high production capability, combining with a modern bottling line and a good quality-price ratio, the company is currently distributing through the main hypermarkets and supermarkets: its annual production is 8 million bottles, sold to the main Italian and European mass markets, either with its own brands or by working under private labels agreements. As far as its production processes are concerned, the company follows strict protocols of the internationally recognized certifications IFS (International Food Standard) - and BRC (BRC - British Retailer Consortium).
Its main products are:
- Asti Spumante D.O.C.G. (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin, the Italian quality label certifying the geographical origins of wines, which is included in the EU PDO - Protected designation of origin - quality scheme);
- Moscato d’Asti D.O.C.G.;
- Barolo D.O.C.G.;
- Barbera d’Asti D.O.C.G.;
The company started its activity in foreign markets some years ago and, while the EU is still absorbing its main export quota, it has progressively expanded in extra-EU countries like Russia, China and USA. The company’s current growth strategy focuses on further expanding its business in target EU markets (namely France and Spain) as well as specific extra-EU countries, listed in the dedicated section of this profile. In details, it is looking for long-term commercial agency agreements with well-experienced wine agents, which should be able to introduce the company to large-scale wine retailers, supermarkets, hypermarkets, and discount stores.
