Summary:
An Italian research and innovation Institute has developed a new technique for low-cost and reliable non welded metallic junctions, maintaining vacuum tightness also in heavy loading conditions, applicable also to not weldable materials and heterogeneous junctions. The new technique, originally developed for nuclear fusion applications, is also suitable for other areas of large-scale production. The preferred cooperation types are license agreement, financial agreement or commercial agreement.
Description:
An Italian research and innovation Institute, based in North East and with a recognized experience and know how in thermomechanical technology and aspects related to components and materials subjected to for high power load, has developed a new technique for metallic junctions, permitting to obtain low-cost and reliable non welded junctions, able to maintain vacuum tightness, also in heavy loading conditions (high temperature and high mechanical loads). The technique can be applied also if the materials to be joint are not weldable and for heterogeneous junctions (for example, between steel and copper) and it has been tested up to 500 bar internal pressure and up to 700 °C, showing excellent leak tightness in vacuum conditions and high mechanical resistance.
The Institute is looking for partners to cooperate with via financial agreement, license agreement or via commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
Type: the institute is looking for industrial partners interested in innovative metallic junction technology applied to manufacturing and materials.
