Partner search for a national research project of the Technology Agency - Delta 2 -concerning monitoring of beehives

The Czech company would like to prepare a national publicly funded project for the development and distribution of Internet of Things in the franework of the national call of the Technology Agency called Delta 2 as a main applicant. The devices for monitoring bee populations in remote places will be solved. The devices would gather information about humidity, temperature (inside, outside), the weight of the beehive and sound metrics (computed and evaluated on the device), using the satellite connection and combination of battery and solar energy for power supply. The hardware will be accompanied by a mobile application for quick overviews of the data. Having perfected and tested these devices, the company would distribute them into various places around the Czech Republic and Israel, which are significant for their pollination and self-sustainable potential. Subsequently, the applicant would perform a quantitative study, in which they would analyze the acquired data and compare them between themselves. Additionally, the methodology used for their data classification will be expanded into the broad public, and they would be able to directly compare the data with Citizen Science inputs, using a standardized input format included in the mobile application. At the end of a two year project, the company would like to have developed, tested, and evaluated a state-of-the-art hardware technology, which would be beneficial for environment observations and analysis of bee colonies. The results from the pilot study will be further investigated by the academic community and could serve as a valuable argument for further changes in legislative and public opinion. The co-operation will be based on a research co-operation agreement. The second call of the Delta 2 progranne of the Technology Agency (TA CR) is focused on applied research, experimental development and innovation and was launched 13 May 2020. The partner should be a small or medium technological company experienced in monitoring and having capacities and experience with project preparation. The Technology Agency would like to support international cooperation in applied research between Czech enterprises and foreign research organisations from certain countries (Israel is one of them), it means the partner must be from one of the included countries. Deadline of the call is 15 July 2020 and maximum funding rate per project is 74 procent.
