The Art Museum is a county museum in northern Romania, located in a historical monument. The last major modernization works were carried out in the period 2007-2011 with the transformation of the museum into an independent institution, with important financial resources being invested in order to rehabilitate it to European standards.
This museum is among the first in the country both by the profile of its collections and by the exhibition programs it promotes, all being dedicated to the past and present history of the region.
Conceived as a natural complement to the exhibition offer at the museum's headquarters, the museum's online communication strategy incorporates the content transmitted on the website, on the blog and the communication via social networks. The virtual elements are part of an omnichannel approach that uses innovation and technological solutions in order to enhance the heritage and involve community members in the activities of the institution.
Thus, the museum offers the public physical exhibitions, virtual exhibitions, events and products (postcards, books, art albums and micro-albums, brochures, micromonographs, DVDs). The paintings, complemented by sculptures and graphic works, illustrate the stylistic variety of the representation of the anthropomorphic motif in the portrait phase in the historical course of the museum.
At present, through acquisitions, transfers and donations, the museum's patrimony has included:
- over 4,000 works of art, in recent years the development of collections recording over 500 new pieces (over 94% of them are signed by artists who have worked in the region);
- pieces of modern and contemporary Romanian art, as well as some works illustrating the European art from the 15th century. XVIII-XX;
- valuable core of universal contemporary art.
The museum participates in various national and international projects with artistic profile. The Romanian museum is looking for partnerships with international museums and cultural organizations in order to organize events or to participate in project's proposals on various artistic calls. Also, suitable partners are Start-ups, SMEs and NGOs working in the creative field and who are willing to start a new project or have a project in progress and are looking for partners. It is desired to conclude subcontracting agreements.
