Description:
In recent years, scientists underlined the growing importance of non-waste technologies in all activity fields that could contribute to the environmental protection. Thus, in the wine industry it is relatively frequent the use of the vineyard waste as resource for further production of energy. In this context, a Romanian company established in 2019 in a wine region of Transylvania focused on grape marc for the briquettes production, to be used as energy source during wintertime, and not only. The young Romanian company is producing and trading grape marc briquettes for energy purposes; the grape marc is divided into two types: fermented pomace, which is produced as waste from pressing after fermentation of the macerated matter during the production of red wine, and the unfermented pomace, which gets during pressing the fresh grape.. From the energetical point of view, the energy potential of the grape marc briquettes produced by the Romanian company was verified via a set of calorimetric measurements performed in a laboratory accredited by unique national accreditation body. Thus, one determined the net calorific value of the Romanian grape marc briquettes, which indicated a value of 20,18 Mj/kg (kcal/kg), higher as compared to the permissible value (14,5 Mj/kg) according to ISO 17225-7:2014 - the international standard that determines the fuel quality classes and specifications of graded non-woody briquettes. The grape marc briquettes are packed in bags and the end-users are both individuals (for heating rooms and obtaining hot water) and SMEs (pizzerias, bakeries, greenhouses etc.) on the internal market. As the grape marc briquettes produced by the Romanian company meet the characteristics of the standards required for use and marketing, one is interested in finding foreign distributors to sell the Romanian grape marc briquettes abroad. Cooperation will be based on Distribution services agreement.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
Potential partners could be SMEs willing to act as distributors to sell the Romanian company’s grape marc briquettes abroad; the distribution agreement is not exclusive. It would be preferable that the distributor has previous experience in trans-national corporations. The further details of the distribution services agreement are to be discusses directly with the partners.
