Description: 
An innovative SME located in North West Italy developed, patented and is producing a portfolio of smart LED lights, from standard T8 tubes to complete form factor luminaires, which integrate inside each lamp an operating system, a ligthing sensor and VLC (VideoLan Client) communication capabilities. A locally installed software is controlling the light behaviour in function of local settings (e.g. requested Lux level), integrated sensor inputs and information received by the nearby lamps which communicate the network status through a proprietary VideoLan Client (VLC) protocol. Each tube or lamp is installed exactly in the same way as any other LED light, there is no need to recable or to install any central control unit. Inside each product a low energy bluetooth processor is also integrated and it is activated when customers want to change local configuration only (e.g. changing lux target) or download, from the lamp memory, the last period energy consumption data. The company is working to integrate several other kinds of sensors (seismic, distance, gas ecc) in order to transform each light point of a building in a real monitor and control IoT device. Easy installation (simply change the bulb!!) and pervasive presence of light in a building transform this patented solution not only in a energy saving product but in a complete, simple and cost effective monitoring solution.
