Summary:
The Spanish company is engaged in the development of water and wastewater technologies for various treatment purposes. Core competences rely on reverse osmosis, filtration, ultrafiltration, water reuse, quality control, chemical dosing to pumping stations, supplying components, offering technical support and scheduled maintenance programs and turnkey solutions. The company is looking for foreign partners to conclude commercial agency, distribution and subcontracting agreements.
Description:
The Spanish SME created the water treatment division in 1982. Since then, it has continued growing and developing new products for the marine and terrestrial water suitability of the needs of people and industries.
The company manufactures units capable of treating wastewater for its reuse, from secondary treatment systems of urban or industrial water and/or polluted ground water, surface water and rainwater. The type of unit and system to treat water will depend on the quality of water needed but also the type of water.
The company has developed various water treating systems, such as filtering through washable multilayer filters which is capable of filtering quality down to 1 micron, membrane ultrafiltration systems, and reverse osmosis units specially designed to treat water with high fouling rates.
In this sense, the R&D department has developed two independent systems capable of removing suspended solids, organic contamination and dissolved solids that this type of secondary treated water from the municipal wastewater treatment plant may contain. These systems are direct wastewater treatment reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration. The two systems operate effectively, reliably and with low operating costs. The use of each or the combination of both will depend on the application and/or use given to the treated water. The company provides turnkey and ad-hoc solutions. An example of an application is irrigation of golf courses.
The systems
Reverse osmosis
Following an specifically designed waste water reverse osmosis system far from the conventional reverse osmosis concept, after years of research, it yielded to excellent results in real facilities. It is a single system, without previous ultrafiltration, capable of removing organic and inorganic contaminants and dissolved salts, without risks of premature membranes blockage. It essentially consists in a submicronic treatment and a special reverse osmosis unit capable of a recovery between 60% and 65%.
The system is recommended for small or medium volume treatment (up to 3000 m3/day production) with an intended use of the system between 5000-6000 hours/year. With this type of application, the life span of the membranes is maintained equal to membranes integrated in a conventional reverse osmosis system that treats clean well water. It is also applicable where space limitations do not allow the installation of a previous ultrafiltration system and/or when economic constraints exist.
Ultrafiltration
The equipment is designed to treat brackish surface water, sea water, well water, secondary waste water from urban sewage and processes, and can cover a multitude of applications.
Some examples of application can be industry, potable water, sewage, irrigation, beverages, cheese, mining, poultry, electrophoretic paint, pharmaceuticals, breweries, potato processing, etc.
In relation to the cooperation types, the commercial agency would represent the company in the local market and liaison with the company providing the service/system. For distributors, turnkey solutions would be commercialised and supported. Finally, companies in need of complex systems in the field would subcontract the company for ad-hoc solutions.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
For commercial agency agreements, the partner should be active in water and/or wastewater treatment and promote the technology in local market. The role would be commercialise the technology and services, representing and understanding them in its market.
For distribution services agreements, the partner should be experienced and well-developed in the field, capable to understand the technology after specific trainings. The role would be sell the technology and service.
For subcontracting services, it is sought engineering, construction and maintenance companies related to the water treatment. Moreover, the company has extensive expertise in the tourism sector, i.e. hotel chains, golf courses, in general the hospitality industry. Role would be a long-term subcontracting of systems and services.
All potential partners should be well established in their market.
