Description:
The Swedish chicken producer offers high quality chicken with a focus on the environment and animal welfare. The company can deliver both fresh chilled and frozen products, and also cooked products that are ready to eat or to heat up. The product range contains all the different chicken parts. The company can also develop products on demand.
Today their chicken is used by the best chefs in Sweden and has also been a main ingredient in the annual competition, Årets kock, which appoints the best Swedish chef of the year. The company further offers Sweden's first and only chicken that is climate certified by Svenskt Sigill. This means that they have reduced their climate impact by 20-25 percent. The chicken is also bred without using any type of antibiotics or hormones, and there are no unhealthy additives in the feed, which is based on locally grown corn and of course is free from GMO.
The chicken is of a slow growing breed called Ranger Gold. By letting the chickens grow at a slower pace it promotes good health in the animals. Ranger Gold is approved by several animal welfare organizations such as the Better Life Label in the Netherlands, Tierschutzlabel “Für Mehr Tierschutz” in Germany, and RSPCA Assured in the UK.
The experience of the Swedish company indicates that chicken with more space has more taste. The European standard is 42 kilograms of chicken per square meter, or circa 20 birds, while the Sweidsh company only has 18 kilograms of chicken per square meter or eight to nine birds. Space keeps the chickens naturally healthy.
