Techniques based on phenotypic methods are based on conventional tests used for routine identification, microscopic examination, assimilation of different carbon sources, vitamin requirements, development in different temperature environments and high concentration sugar or salt environments, resistance against antibiotics, and characteristics of hydrolyzing various substrates.
