Summary:
A newly established UK manufacturer of artisan craft gin is offering its Lady Grey Gin and London Dry Gin for partnership through distribution agreements and commercial agency agreements. The owner of the company is an avid gin connoisseur, whose lifelong dream was to produce a local flavoursome gin. The company’s growth strategy includes increasing its overseas market presence and it is therefore looking to find potential distributors and agents worldwide.
Description:
This UK manufacturer is a start-up gin distillery formed in October 2020 and is named after its hometown’s most famous landmark.
The brand was launched as a side project in England’s coronavirus lockdown and has made waves in its community, selling out of its first batch of 150 bottles of each flavour in 3 weeks. The company now use a third party distiller for their large format bottles (75cl), but the smaller formats (20cl and 5cl) are distilled by the owner himself.
The manufacturer produces two types of gin which are a truly local product to the region:
1. The Lady Grey – which is a true tea gin, with a full black tea body, perfectly complemented by the citrus notes from the bergamot, lemon peel and orange blossom.
2. The London Dry gin – which is juniper lead (more so in taste than smell) and creates a herbaceous mouthfeel from the rosemary and thyme, with added sweetness from cardamom and cinnamon.
The company's two-year plan will see it taking on a lease for a larger industrial unit, purchasing an industrial still and bringing all the distillation in-house.
Both spirits have been entered into a few different award competitions. The manufacturer hopes that this will reflect the quality of the product once the products have been judged this year.
Following success in the UK, the company is now looking to establish distribution agreements, along with commercial agents, selling into supermarkets, retailers, hotels, restaurants and cafes to expand to further markets.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
